1 chicken, cut up
Boil/simmer with enough water to cover. Cook 1 ½ hours till done.
Remove chicken, let cool. Pull meat off bones. Strain broth to remove any hidden bones. Reserve 1 cup broth for thickening.

Stalks of celery
Onion
Cook till tender in butter

Add to broth:
Celery
onions
1 can water chestnuts
mushrooms
pimento (1 jar), optional
chow mein vegetables (1 can, drained)
soy sauce (La Choy)
chicken

Thicken remaining 1 cup broth with cornstarch.
