¼ oz. active dry yeast or 1 packet
¼ c. warm water (110º)
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Let stand 10 minutes.
In a 2-quart glass, plastic or ceramic container, combine 1 cup flour and 1 cup sugar. Mix thoroughly with a whisk or fork.
Slowly stir in 1 cup milk and dissolved yeast mixture.
Cover loosely or place in 1 gallon size ziploc bag and let stand at room temperature until bubbly. Consider this Day 1 of the 10-day cycle. For the next 10 days, handle starter according to the instructions for Amish Friendship Bread.
