4 Tablespoons butter
4 Tablespoons flour
Salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon white pepper (or to taste)
3-4 teaspoons chicken bouillon paste
1-2 Tablespoons dried minced onion (can use fresh minced)
3 cups half and half (more if you like a thinner soup)
Dash red pepper sauce
1 pound raw shrimp (can use lobster)
1 pound tub of refrigerated lump crab meat
1-2 Tablespoons cooking sherry
Old bay seasoning to taste if desired

Directions:

Melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, salt, pepper, old bay (if using) and cook the roux.

Add half of the 1/2 and 1/2 and the shrimp. Cook on medium low until shrimp just starts to turn pink.

Add remaining ingredients and heat through until thick, never boiling.

The official meal for Christmas Eve, this recipe can be doubled or halved.

I like to add seasoning salt or adobo seasoning and serve old bay on the table for those who like it.
