lard or Crisco

This recipe is for pint jars. Cut meat into bite-size pieces and fill jars to within ¼" from top of jar. Put ½ tsp. of salt and 1 tsp. lard (Crisco) in each jar. Leave jars a quarter turn open and boil in canner for 2½ hours. Store in a cool dry place.
