Sauce:
3 cups tomato juice
3 tbsp. lemon juice
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
⅛ tsp. pepper
crushed garlic to taste
Filling:
½ lb.each minced beef, minced pork
¼ cup grated onion; ¼ cup uncooked rice
1½ tsp. salt
1 egg
⅛ tsp. pepper
¼ cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Remove coarse outer leaves from cabbage. Pour boiling water over cabbage & let stand 15-20 minutes. Drain & separate leaves. Combine ingredients for sauce & simmer for 15-20 minutes. Combine ingredients for filling, place 2 tbsp. on each cabbage leaf & roll up, tucking in ends. Place rolls close together in layers in greased baking dish & pour sauce over them. Cover & bake at 350º for 2½ hours. Baste. Enjoy! Everyone enjoys these cabbage rolls - especially the gang during hunting season!
