⅔ cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
½ cup light corn syrup
2 tsp.vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg chocolate bits
⅔ cup crunchy peanut butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter/margarine and sugar. Add oats, corn syrup and vanilla. Stir to blend. Press firmly into a greased 13" x 9" pan. Bake at 375º for 12 to 15 minutes. Melt chocolate bits with peanut butter in a double boiler. Let baked cookie cool slightly and then spread with melted topping. Top with nuts (if desired). Place in refrigerator to harden. Cut into small bars and keep refrigerated.
