Simple Syrup

Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
In saucepan, combine sugar and water; stir and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool. Store covered in clean jar in refrigerator. Makes about 1⅓ cups.

Lemonade:
8 cups water
1⅓ cups simple syrup
1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (5 large lemons)

Directions:
Directions:
In pitcher, combine water, syrup and lemon juice; stir till well mixed. Float lemon slices on top and serve cold. If you like it colder add your ice cubes to individual glasses so you don't water down the lemonade. Makes about 8 cups.
