3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cloves

Directions:
Directions:
In a large electric mixer bowl place shortening, honey, brown sugar, and egg and beat until creamy on medium speed. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the honey mixture on low speed until mixed. Place mixture in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes or longer. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
