½ cup sugar
½ cup water
2 ripe medium bananas
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water, and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for three minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool slightly, then refrigerate until cold.

In a food processor or blender puree the bananas and lemon juice until smooth. Add the sugar syrup. Pour the mixture into a chilled 9 inch square metal pan. Freeze until solid, several hours or over night.

Break the sorbetto into chunks. Place in a food processor and puree until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately, or pack into a covered container and freeze for up to two hours.
