2 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
3/4 t. salt
1 stick unsalted butter, soft
1 1/4 c. sugar + 3 T
2 large whole eggs
1 t. vanilla or 1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 c. blueberries
1/2 large egg whites
1 c. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream 1 1/4c. sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs 1 at a time, then add vanilla. Alternately add flour and milk in batches, begin and end with flour, beat on low after each addition. Fold in berries and spoon into a greased (ceramic or glass 2 1/2" deep) baking dish.
Lightly beat egg white with fork and add 3 T. sugar and almonds, stir to coat. Spoon over batter. Bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes. Cool on rack for 10 minutes.
