2 pkg. yeast
½ cup lukewarm water
1 ½ cups milk
½ cup sugar
3 tsp. salt
¼ cup shortening
1 egg
5 ½ cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in warm water. Scald milk. Add sugar, salt, and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups flour and beat well. Add softened yeast and egg. Mix well. Add remaining flour to make soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead until satiny. Place in lightly greased bowl. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk. Punch dough down. Pinch off 3 small dabs of dough (or balls about size of walnut) and place in greased muffin tins. Let rise. Bake at 400º until rolls are brown, about 10 - 15 minutes.
