½ cup shortening
1 stick butter
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup milk
3 cups plain flour
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter and sugar together. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, add baking powder and salt. Sift again. Add milk alternating with flour. Add vanilla. Put into a well greased bundt pan or 10 inch angel food pan. Place in cold oven. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350º.
