Ingredients:
1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup milk
5½ cups flour

Directions:
Mix all ingredients except flour at a low speed. Slowly add flour (use more if necessary).

Roll out on floured board ¼" or so, then cut with cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 350º for 12 to 15 minutes until bottoms are light brown. Do not overcook as that will make them hard. Cool on wire rack. Store in air tight container. (If you have any left. Yes, they're that good!)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I got this recipe from a dear friend of mine, Flo Stirman. She had gotten it from an older lady in 1999 who verified this was about 150 years old at that time. I have to share it because it's simple, not sweet, so it's great with coffee and they stay soft.
