Apple Pudding:
2 cups sugar
½ cup margarine
2 eggs
4 cups shredded apples
2 cups flour
2 tsp soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
¾ tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts

Caramel Sauce:
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups water, divided
1½ cups margarine
4 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla
Dash salt

Directions:
Directions:
Apple Pudding: Cream sugar, margarine and eggs. Add shredded apples; stir. Add dry ingredients. Bake at 350º in a 9X13-inch pan for 45 minutes.

Caramel Sauce: Mix cornstarch with ½ cup cold water. Bring remaining water (1½ cups), brown sugar, and margarine to a boil. Add cornstarch mixture and cook until thick. Add vanilla and dash salt. Serve over Apple Pudding with a spoonful of whipped cream or Cool Whip.
