Grease and flour pan 2 9" layer cake pans
Cream together:
2/3 cup shortening
1 2/3 cups sugar
Beat in:
3 eggs
Blend together:
2/3 cups cocoa
1 1/3 cup cold water
Sift together:
2 1/4 cup flour
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 tsp. Baking powder

Stir in alternately with cocoa mixture.
Add 1 tsp. vanilla

Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes

Fluffy Cocoa Frosting
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup can milk
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together. Frost cake

When I was young my friend Shelly Barr would invite me to walk home with her from school. We went to Wasatch Elementary on South Temple. This is when I lived in Federal Heights. Any way we would eat lunch at her house. For dessert her mom always gave us a slice of homemade chocolate cake and a glass of milk. She always had a home made chocolate cake on a a glass cake plate, with a glass lids. I use to go to her house a lot!! Smiley Face
