8 Cups Popped Popcorn
1/2 Cup Slivered Almonds, Toasted
1 Cup light Corn Syrup
1 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
1 tsp. Vinegar
Red Food Coloring
2 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Pop enough popcorn to make 8 cups and mix in a large bowl with toasted almonds (place in 375º oven for 10 minutes). Combine syrup, sugar, water, vinegar and food coloring to tint bright pink. Cook over medium heat, stirring only until sugar is dissolved. Cook syrup until candy thermometer registers 260º F. (hard ball stage). Add butter or margarine and vanilla. Pour over popcorn almond mixture, stirring quickly so all pieces are coated with syrup. Butter hands; scoop up portions of mixture and press into balls.
