1 lb pitted dates
1 lb of walnuts

1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream

Directions:

Preheat oven 375
Bake 12 minutes

Stuff walnuts into dates. Set aside

Cream shortening, brown sugar, and egg until fluffy. Gradually add remaining ingredients and mix. Fold stuffed dates into dough and drop one date with cough onto greased baking sheet and bake. Cool and frost with maple frosting
