2 cups raisins
1 cup water

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup of shortening
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 385
Bake 15 minutes

Boil raisins and water for five minutes and cool.
Add baking soda to raisins and mix.

Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Gradually add remaining ingredients and stir in raisin mixture. Drop by spoonful onto greased baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes until done.
