1 c. soft margarine
3 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. thick sour cream
2 tsp. vanilla
5 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Directions:

Cream margarine and sugar; add eggs and beat. Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and stir in. Chill dough one hour. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart. Bake at 400º for 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies are like "little cakes".
 

Burns Sugar Icing:

8 Tbsp. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 to 4 Tbsp. hot water

Melt butter until golden brown. Blend in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in enough hot water to make icing the proper consistency.
