Ingredients: Cake: ½ c. Shortening ¾ c. White Sugar 2 Egg ¾ c. Milk 2 c. Flour plus ¼ c. for berries 2 ½ tsp. Baking Powder 1 c. Blueberries
Sauce: 2 c. Brown Sugar 5 tbsp. Flour Enough water to moisten 1 ½ c. Milk ¾ c. Butter 2 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:Cake: Mix dry ingredients into a blow Mix wet ingredients into another bowl Add the wet and dry ingredients together and mix together to form a smooth batter Fold in blueberries carefully to avoid breaking Pour into a greased/floured square baking sheet
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour until golden brown
Sauce (Stove Top): In a pot, add brown sugar, flour and enough water to moisten. Bring ingredients to a boil over medium heat Simmer for 5 minutes Add ¾ c. Butter and 2 tsp. Vanilla Stir until butter is completely mixed in
Sauce (Microwave): In a microwave safe bowl, add brown sugar, flour and enough water to moisten. Cook in microwave for 1 minute and then stir. Repeat 3 times. Add ¾ c. Butter and 2 tsp. Vanilla Cook in microwave for 1 minute and then stir. Repeat once. |

Notes: Blueberry Cake and Caramel Sauce is a family favorite. It is requested at almost every family function. The traditional way to eat it is to heat up the sauce and the cake. The sauce is also delicious cold. Cake is also fantastic with just butter. Be careful when making this treat while cooking a turkey dinner. Gravy and Caramel sauce look identical.
