6 TBSP butter
4 large onions ( thinly sliced)
1 cup dry white wine
1 cup beef broth( she used 1 can)
5 1/2 cups chicken stock (she used 1 can)
fresh black pepper (1 tsp or to taste)
1 tsp salt( she didn't use)
french bread (toasted)
graded cheddar cheese to pot on top before eating

Directions:
Directions:
In wide pan , melt butter over medium heat, add onions to keep them from stewing rather than browning, spread them in as close to a single layer as possible, cook stirring occasionally until they are brown and soft.
Stir in wine , bring to boil scraping bottom of pan with wooden spoon to get all browned, pour in beef broth and chicken broth and pepper, bring to boil and simmer 10 minutes
