Combine 1/4 cup water, 1/2 TBSP vanilla--set aside
Place 2 cups pecan halves in the bottom of a medium size heavy pot. Add the cinnamon/sugar mixture and sprinkle with vanilla/water mixture over the top of the pecans. Stir all together with a wooden spoon. Place pot over medium heat, boil, stirring constantly until mixture becomes thick,( about 5-10 minutes). When the liquid is evaporated and stirring becomes more difficult, remove from heat. Add additional 1 TBSP of water, stir pecans to coat evenly. When the liquid begins to thicken pour the glazed nuts out unto a shallow baking pan lined with wax paper. Separate the glazed pecans using a wooden spoon. Let cool , lift pecans out of crumbly sugar mixture and store in airtight container
