Ingredients:  
Cream together: 1 c. margarine, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs.

Add 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda, 2 1/2 c. flour.

Mix together 1 c. oatmeal, 2 c. dates (cut up), 1 c. nuts, and stir into batter by hand.

Drop by heaping teasponsful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake about 12 minutes at 350 until lightly browned. Watch closely, and don't let them get too brown. Allow to cool a little on the sheets before removing.
