3 - 4 cloveschopped garlic
1/2 cup butter
1//4 cup oilive oil
1 small can anchovies
Various cut up fresh vegetables

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare the vegetables.
In a small skillet or saucepan, sauté 3 or 4 cloves chopped garlic in the butter and olive oil.
When delicately brown, add 1 small can anchovies and stir well.
Serve hot from the skillet or chafing dish .

Each person should have a fork in one hand and a piece of crusty Italian bread in the other. With the fok, dip the vegetable into the hot sauce, hold it over the bread and eat. Add more garlic, butter and oil if needed.

This is a vertible base for a New Year's celebration. Natives use it to herald the vintage season, when large quantities of the new wines are sampled.

Shirlene made this for my 50th birthday. We had a house full of people for the weekend and a house full of the wonderful aroma!
