2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. cold water
3 c. cake flour
1 1/2 c. hickory nuts, chopped
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
4 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add water and flour with baking powder and salt sifted in. Add nuts which have been dredged in some of the flour. Add egg whites and beat them in. Bake in 350 oven until done.

Can be baked in layers and put together with your favorite white frosting or can be baked in 9X13 pan and frosted.
