3/4 cup hazelnuts (filberts)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
2 t. cream of tartar
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. cinnamon
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
powdered sugar
1/2 c. seedless raspberry jam

Directions:
Directions:
In food processor, 3/4 cup hazelnuts and 1/4 cup brown sugar -- pulse 10 times on and off (2-3 seconds each time) until nuts are finely ground, but not oily.

In small bowl, mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt & cinnamon. Set aside.

In large bowl, beat butter and remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar. Cream together until smooth.

Add egg and vanilla, beat for 1 more minute.

Stir in flour mixture (with spoon) until just blended. Shape dough into 2 balls, flatten each ball into disk. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2 hours until firm.

Heat over to 425 degrees. Roll dough to 1/8" thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake 4-5 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.

Spread cookie without hole with jam, put cookie with hole on top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
