Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 head cabbage
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 egg
1 onion, chopped
2-3 cups tomato sauce (I use small can)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 can stewed tomatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Boil cabbage to soften and remove leaves. Combine ground meat, rice, egg and onion. Place meatball in cabbage leaf and roll, tucking ends under. Place in baking pan.
Simmer tomato sauce, lemon juice and brown sugar. Pour over cabbage rolls. Pour tomatoes over top.
Bake 350 degrees 45 minutes or until meat is cooked and tomatoes are soft.

Personal Notes:
The lemon juice is what makes this recipe stand out from other cabbage roll recipes.
I am guessing on the cooking time since my recipe card does not have it listed. I guess I always just watched it cook because I couldn't wait to eat it :)
I love the stewed tomatoes so I usually added an extra can - or two!
This freezes well. I know this because I was usually the only one who would eat it.
