1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 squares (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 1/2 c. cake flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk or cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening until soft.
Add sugar gradually, continuing to cream until light and fluffy.
Add egg, vanilla and chocolate; beat well.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together; add alternately with milk; beat well after each addition.
Chill dough for 10 minutes.
Pack into a Cookie Gun; make into desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in a hot oven (400º F.)
YIELD: 5 dozen
