Ingredients:  
1 1/2 c. cut up dates
1 1/2 c. cream or evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
2 TB fine dry bread crumbs
2 tsp vanilla
unbaked pie shell
3/4 c. shredded coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450
Line pie plate with pastry
Sprinkle sliced dates into pan
Combine remaining ingredients except coconut & beat with mixer
Pour over dates in pastry lined pan
Bake in hot oven for 15 minutes
Reduce temperature to 325º &sprinkle coconut over top of pie & continue baking for 30 -35 minutes longer or filling looks firm
Serve with cinnamon ice cream
