1 c. butter (2 sticks - must be real butter)
1 box (1 lb.) light brown sugar
1 pkg. (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1/2 c. ground or finely chopped almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Lightly butter a large cookie sheet and set aside. In a 2 quart microware safe bowl, put in butter and heat on warm (defrost) for 3 minutes. Stir in brown sugar and microwave on high for approximately 7-9 minutes stirring every 2 minutes. Mixture should be at hard crack stage (290 - 300º F). If not certain it is done, check with a candy thermometer.

Pour mixture evenly as possible onto buttered cookie sheet and let it spread out. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot candy. Wait a few minutes until the chocolate chips are soft from the heat and then spread all over the toffee with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle the ground almonds over the top of the melted chocolate. Refrigerate till hardened or overnight. Break into pieces and enjoy.
