2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
1 CUP SHORTENING
3 EGGS
1TSP. SODA
1 TSP. SALT
3 CUPS FLOUR
VANILLA
FILLING:
1 LB. DATES
2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
1/2 CUP WATER

Directions:
Directions:
Boil dates, brown sugar, and water until dates are soft.
Mix dough.
Cream sugar, shortening, and eggs add dry ingredients.
Roll out and cut with round cookie cutter fill, cover with another cookie.
Seal edges bake 350 until done.
