1 cp dates, cut up
1 ½ cps boiling water
1 tsp baking soda

1 cp white sugar
¾ cp butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cps flour
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt

Topping
½ cp brown sugar
½ cp nuts, coarsely chopped
1 cp Milk Chocolate Chips

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the dates and baking soda in the boiling water and let it sit for 15 min.

Cream the white sugar with the butter together with a fork. Add the eggs and vanilla. Stir in the date mixture. Add the flour, cinnamon, salt and mix well.

Pour into a greased, floured cake pan. Sprinkle the top evenly with brown sugar, nuts and chocolate chips. Bake in an 350* oven for 40 min.

Cool completely before cutting. It’s good topped with Cool Whip but doesn’t need it.
