1 cup butter or margarine
¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter and sugars; beat until fluffy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into batter. Cover and chill 3 to 4 hours.

Roll out about one-third of the dough to 1/8” thickness on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes.

Bake at 375° on ungreased cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes, or until done.

Cool. Decorate as desired

I have tried many different sugar cookie recipes but this one is the best. I make a glaze with confectioner sugar and add a flavoring of your choice (i.e. almond, anise, orange) and dye it red for some and green for others. I also sprinkle Christmas shots on them.
