3 ¼ cups flour, sifted
¼ cup sugar
1tsp. baking powder
1tsp. baking soda
¾ tsp. salt
½ cup margarine
1 1/3 cup buttermilk
**(a quart of buttermilk will allow you to make this three Irish Soda breads)
1/3 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
1. *Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. Using two knives or a pastry blender cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk and raisins: stir only until moisture is absorbed.

2. Place dough on lightly floured board and knead until smooth and velvety, about 1 minute. Shape dough into a round loaf: place in a greased round pan.

3. With a knife cut a cross on the top and bake in a 350° oven, about 1 hour or until loaf is brown and shrinks from sides of pan.

*You can us a Kitchen-aid mix master and put in all the ingredients except the raisins...using the dough hook mix until blended. Then add the raisins and mix until it forms a ball. Then continue with step 2.
