Ingredients:
Ingredients:
One large can of tomato sauce, puree, or juice (whatever you have). This is about a 27 ounce can.
2 cans full of water.
Salt and Pepper to taste
One pound hamburger (or more--to your liking)
5 potatoes peeled and diced
Grated Onion (if preferred)
4 cans of refrigerator biscuits (the small ones)

Directions:
Directions:
Put tomato sauce and water in a large pot. Add hamburger and onion, boil that till the hamburger is cooked. Add potatoes and when it is boiling cut up biscuits in small pieces and add to broth. (Note: I cut or break each biscuit into 8 or 10 pieces.) Keep stirring while you are doing this. Cook and stir for about 20 to 30 minutes until dough balls are finished cooking. (You may have to add more broth or water to this as it cooks and thickens.) Use your judgment. I know you are all good cooks.

Of course you can double or triple this recipe to your liking for a large crowd.

(Tomato Sauce is made with seasonings, etc. and tomato puree is straight tomato.)

Personal Notes:
This was Grandma Phillips dough ball stew. She never really had a recipe, I just typed what I do as I remember her making it. Of course, grate the onion up so the kids cannot see it. If I remember correctly, Mom said our Grandma Phillips who was from Scotland made it with mutton and dough. I prefer her version of hamburger. We all loved this as kids and still do today. Before they had refrigerator biscuits, Grandma Phillips would mix Bisquick with water and roll the balls and put them in the broth. (Aunt Barb Huie can make this really delicious and her Scott gets it for his birthday every year.)
