½ lb. dried beans (or three cans of Great Northern Beans- each can 64 oz, blend 1 can)
½ lb. ham cubes
1 quart water
1 medium onion chopped up
1 ½ cups scalded milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped up parsley
1/8 cup vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash dried beans thoroughly in cold water. Let soak in 2 inches of water overnight. Drain & put into kettle, add ham & 1 qt. of fresh water.

Heat to boiling, reduce, cover tightly & simmer until beans are mushy. In the last half hour of cooking, add onions, water & milk, season & reheat. Garnish by sprinkling parsley over each serving.
