9 slices white bread, crust removed, buttered generously and cubed
1/2 pound grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 pound bacon, cooked, drained and diced (or up to 1 lb)
6 eggs
3 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste

Butter a 9-by-13-inch casserole.Arrange the buttered bread cubes on the bottom.Top with the grated cheese, then the bacon.Blend eggs, milk and seasonings and pour evenly over all.Cover and refrigerate overnight, or freeze and thoroughly defrost before baking.Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
