Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 can beer
1/4 cup water
1 medium onion, chopped loosely, divided use
1 package bratwurst (8 sausages)
1 (14.4 oz.) can sauerkraut
2 tsp brown sugar
8 slices bacon
8 Kaiser rolls, for serving

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the beer and water in a medium sized pot and bring the liquid to a boil. Ad half the chopped onion and the brats and boil them for 5 minutes.
While brats are boiling, combine sauerkraut, remaining chopped onion and the brown sugar in a pan. If there is not much liquid from the sauerkraut, add a little water. Bring to a boil, continue cooking until liquid is reduced almost completely and the sugar has caramelized.
Remove the brats from the pot, slice them down the middle and stuff them with some of the sauerkraut. Wrap one piece of bacon around each and secure it with toothpicks. Place brats on grill and cook until browned and crispy. Serve on Kaiser roll with your choice of condiments.
