4 quarts sliced cucumbers (16 cups)
6 onions, sliced
1 green pepper sliced
1 sweet red pepper, sliced
3 cloves garlic, sliced or chopped
Ice cubes
1/3 cup coarse salt

3 c pickling vinegar
5 cup sugar
1 ˝ tsp turmeric
1 ˝ tsp celery seed
2 TBSP mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sliced cukes, onions, peppers and garlic in pan. Sprinkle salt over each layer. Mix a tray of ice cubes through the pickles and let stand 3 hours. Drain well.
(Gwen’s Big WearEver Pan). Combine vinegar, and remainder of ingredients and pour over pickles. Heat to the boiling point. Ladle into hot sterile jars. Seal and store 1 month before using. Makes 6-8 pints (500 ml)
