Clean and wash fresh chokecherries.
For each cup of chokecherry juice measure
3/4 c. sugar and 1 T. lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Day before, place cleaned berries in dutch oven and cover with water. Bring to a boil and boil for at least 30 minutes till berries are soft. Mash berries very well and place in a heavy cotton bag and let drain overnight.
Measure your juice into a heavy bottomed sauce pan, add sugar and lemon, mix and bring to a boil. Boil about 15 minutes, watching so doesn't boil over. Pour into hot jars and seal or pour into containers and freeze.
