4 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
4 T. sugar
4 T. lard or oil
2 T. ground flax
2 c. whole wheat flour
enough white flour to knead with
2 T. fast rising yeast (Firmapan)

Directions:
Directions:

Dissolve salt in water and add the sugar. Mix in the lard and flax. Add 1 c. whole wheat flour, mix, then add more flour and beat well. Add fast rising yeast that is mixed with 1 c. of white flour. Beat well and knead until smooth. Keep adding flour and kneading until it doesn't stick to your fingers. Let rise till doubled in size and knead again. Make loaves in place in well greased bread pans and let rise till doubled, covered with tea towel. Bake at 350º for about 30 minutes until nicely brown and sound hollow when tapped. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes then flip out onto racks to cool.
