1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 egg yolks (save whites)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening, and sugars
Add egg yolks
Add vanilla.

Combine dry ingredients and add gradually.

Roll in balls.
Dip is slightly beaten egg whites.
Roll in chopped nuts

Place of ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350º for 5 minutes.
Press lightly with thumb.
Bake 8 minutes longer.
Remove from cookie sheet and cool.

Frost with colored buttercream frosting
