2 1/2 lbs. chuck roast, cubed and trimmed of fat.
1 potato per person, at least 4, plus one more for the pot, peeled and cubed
2 carrots per person and one for the pot, peeled and 1/2" slices
1 can of consommé
1 can tomato soup
1 pkg. frozen peas
mushrooms, if desired

Directions:

Mix the meat. potatoes and carrots together. Combine the can of consommé and tomato soup together and pour over meat mixture.. Cover casserole dish with foil and a tight lid. Put in the oven at 225 degrees for 8 hours. 10 minutes before serving, remove the casserole from the oven and add the entire contents of a package of frozen peas. You can add a few mushrooms, if you would like. Serve with hard rolls, butter and toss salad. A glass of wine is good.
