2 c. sour cream
6 T. shortening
6 T. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 pkg. (4 1/2 tsp.) yeast
6 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat sour cream to a boil. Stir in shortening, sugar, salt and baking soda; cool to lukewarm. Add eggs and yeast; stir well. Add 6 cups flour gradually. Use only enough flour to make a soft dough. Too much flour will make them dry. Turn out on floured surface; knead lightly for a few minutes. Shape into a ball; let rest a few minutes. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick into oblong-shape. Spread entire surface with melted butter. Sprinkle 1/2 with mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon; layer other 1/2 over top of sugared side. Cut into strips about 1 1/2 x 3 inches. Twist;place on greased sheet; let rise. Bake at 350º for 12 to 15 minutes. Frost. with powdered sugar icing while slightly warm.
