1 or 2 Pounds Fresh Okra
1-1/2 Cups Plain Corn Meal
3 Tbsp. Plain Flour
1 Tsp. Black Pepper
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Egg, Beaten
2 Cups Vegetable Oil

Directions:
Directions:
Slice the stems off the okra and slice okra into 1/2 inch rounds and place in a bowl. Combine cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper in another bowl. Pour beaten egg over okra and stir. Place okra in cornmeal mixture, a little at a time, and toss until well coated. Heat oil in a skillet. Add okra, a little at a time, and cook until light brown. Remove from oil with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt as soon as okra is removed from oil. Continue until all okra is cooked.
