2 Medium Onions (Chopped)
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
4 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
1 lb. Lean Ground Beef
1/2 lb. Bulk Italian Sausage
1 Can (14 oz.) Diced Tomatoes (Basil, Garlic and Oregano)
2 Cans (6 oz.) Tomato Paste
1 Can (8 oz.) Tomato Sauce
1 Bay Leaf
1 Tsp. Italian Seasoning
1 Tsp. Oregano
1/4 Tsp. Thyme
1/4 Tsp. Basil
1-1/4 Tsp. Salt
3/4 Tsp. Black Pepper
12 Lasagna Noodles (Uncooked)
8 Cups Boiling Water
1 (16 oz.) Container Ricotta Cheese
2 Large Eggs (Lightly Beaten)
1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 (6 oz.) Packages Mozzarella Cheese Slices

Directions:
Sautee onion in 1 tablespoon hot olive oil in a large skillet until tender. Add garlic and sautee 1 minute. Add beef and sausage and cook until done. Drain excess oil. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and bay leaf. Add salt and pepper and simmer 15 minutes on low heat. Remove bay leaf. Place Lasagna Noodles in a 9x13 inch pan. Pour in 8 cups boiling water and 1 tablespoon olive oil and let stand for 15 minutes. Stir together the ricotta cheese, eggs, parmesan cheese and 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper until blended. Spoon one-half of the meat mixture in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Drain noodles and arrange six noodles over meat mixture. Top with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture and one package mozzarella cheese slices. Repeat layers of meat and cheese mixture once more. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Uncover and cook for another 10 minutes until bubbly. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
