1 egg
2 T. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup boiling water
1 T. lard

Directions:
Directions:
In the saucepan of a double boiler, mix the sugar, lard, egg, molasses and spices. Blend in all but 1 T. for the flour. Put the raisins on top of the batter and sprinkle with the 1 T. of flour. Pour the boiling water over all; place saucepan over bottom of double boiler and let steam for 1 hour.

HARD SAUCE:

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 T. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon
sprinkle of nutmeg
Mix all ingredients together and add boiling water to make thick
