1 pkg. yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1 cup scalded milk
2 tsp. salt
4 T. sugar
6 T. melted lard
6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Put yeast in lukewarm water and add the teaspoon of sugar, stir and let stand to soften. Put the scalded milk, salt and remaining sugar into a mixing bowl and stir and let cool. When milk is lukewarm add the softened yeast; stir in three cups flour. Beat smooth. Stir in the melted lard; add the remaining flour or enough to make a soft dough. Dump out onto floured board or table and knead smooth.
Let rise in a warm place in a greased bowl until doubled in size. Knead again and let rise again until nearly doubled. Put on floured board or table and make rolls; put in greased pans; brush with melted lard; let rise until doubled. Bake 15 to 20 minutes in 400º oven.
