½ soft butter (1 stick)
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1- 10 ounce jar of Maraschino Cherries drained and chopped
1 teaspoon Vanilla



Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar mix until incorporated about 3 minutes; add eggs one at a time mixing well after each one.
Add the flour and baking soda, then the buttermilk adding a little at a time.
Add the pecans, cherries and vanilla next and mix until all is combined.
Put into a greased and flour loaf pan bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Side note: you can add pecans rather than walnuts,
Also dried cranberries instead of cherries.
This makes a nice housewarming or Holiday gift
