MAKE A SYRUP OF:
2 cups vinegar 2 cups water 6 or 8 sticks of cinnamon (broken) 1 - 10 oz. red hots 9 cinnamon candy)
Heat until the red hots have dissolved. Pour over the pickles in the crock or enameled pan and let set overnight.
For the next 3 days drain the syrup off and reheat and pour back over the pickles. On the 4th day, heat the syrup and pickles together and pack in jars and seal.
This makes a large batch of syrup, you may need to adjust for the amount of cucumbers you have used. |
